Advanced Airway Practices
This Advanced Airway Course will take you through the many aspects of managing complicated airways. The course can be tailored to each provider or agency's specific needs. It covers the various tools, adjuncts, techniques and processes that make up an effective airway practice. Create your own course from the following options - choose one or choose them all! But at the end of this class, you will have your own technique for managing a difficult airway that will give you confidence as you approach one of the most challenging aspects of the trade.
Ventilation Mechanics - BVM & Intro to Vent
Difficult Intubation - Techniques for Success in Difficult Situations
S.A.L.A.D. (Suction Assisted Laryngoscopy & Airway Decontamination)
RSI (Rapid Sequence Induction) vs. DSI (Delayed Sequence Induction)
Needle and Surgical Cricothyroidotomy
Needle Chest Decompression
Finger Thoracostomy
This is a class for experienced Paramedics who are ready to push their skills beyond the scope of just intubating the patient in cardiac arrest. These skills will require critical thinking and will be presented in case scenario format with practical application through simulations, performing hands on skills. We will cover various techniques and tools so that participants have a broad exposure to many different methods.
Participants will be given the information and hands on practice they need to perform this skill; however, completion of this class does not provide the authority to practice these skills in the field without the approval of your agency's OMD. I am happy to work with any OMD to incorporate specific agency requirements in order to obtain OMD approval for sign off.
This class can be tailored to an individual, a small group or an agency. Please contact me to discuss your needs and make arrangements.
